IDEC2017イスラエル/Israel ④ ヘデラデモクラティックスクール/Hadera Democratic School

Hadera Democratic School is the very special school for not only for Israeli people but for people in the world. This democratic school is a mile stone school. So many democratic eduation people are inspired and empowered. At this IDEC, tour to Hadera was planed and two days of the conference was held here. This is my third visit to Hadera. The last visit was 2010. Every time I visit here something is different from the previous visit. This time, they have a big new building. People have more rooms and spaces. Surprisingly now they have 600 students. This may be the biggest democratic school of this type. Still they have the long waiting list of 200 children.
ヘデラデモクラティックスクールはイスラエルの人にとってだけでなく、世界の人にとっても特別な場所です。多くの人に影響と勇気を与えてくれている場所です。
　今回のIDECではデモクラティックスクール訪問で訪れただけでなく、会場として2日使われました。今回で3回目の訪問となりますが、毎回大きな違いがあり驚きます。今回は鉄筋コンクリートの大きな建物ができており、部屋数もずっと増えていました。人数も増えており、現在は600人の子どもがいます。このような形のデモクラティックスクールでは最も大きいかも知れません。それにもかかわらず200人もの子どもがうエイティングリストに載っているそうです。

IDEC2017イスラエル/Israel ③ 「私の波」/"My Wave"

"My Wave" is amazing educational programme in Jaffa near Tel Aviv.My Wave locates just along the Mediterranean Sea.More than 760 teenagers have participated surfing programme at My Wave.These teenagers are mostly at risk children and youth or have difficulties in their life. The director of this initiative is a graduate of Institute of Democratic Education at kibbutz University. His passion is to empower the youth. He started this project when

he was at the university. Now he has four bases in Israel.On the way back, we saw very beautiful sunset.
「私の波」というバトヤムという所にあるユニークな十代向けのプロジェクトに行きました。地中海に面した浜に場所があり、サーフィンを通じて自分を発見していくという取り組みです。今までに760人の十代の若者たちが卒業していったそうです。代表の青年はデモクラティック教育研究所の出身者でサーフィンが好きということと若者をエンパワーしたいという思いが結びついて始めたそうです。この企画は好評で現在は拠点も4か所に増えています。帰りに浜辺を見ると、地中海に沈む夕日がとてもきれいでした。

IDEC2017イスラエル/Israel ② IDEC Venue/ 会場・宿舎

During this IDEC, the venue including the accommodation locates a big kibbutz in Givat Haviva. Givat Haviva is not far from Hadera. Today and tommorrow Yaacov is a tour leader of democratic school tour.
This picture is the one of the studetns dom of the kibbutz. I will stay during the conference time.
今回のIDEC会場はギバト・ハビバというキブツです。キブツはイスラエル独特の共同体です。生産の場、学びの場、生活の場が融合しています。その学生寮が宿泊施設となり、教室、ホールや集会室などが基調講演やワークショップなどの場になります。この写真はそんな寮の一つです。今日明日はヤコブさんがツアーリーダーになってイスラエルのデモクラティックスクールを案内してくれます。

IDEC2017イスラエル/Israel ①

We are at Tokyo International Airport waiting for boarding. It's so exciting to meet old friends and new friends at IDEC. It's a big reunion and an opportunity to meet democratic education people once a year.This summer, we will host APDEC in Tokyo. We are also excited to prepare. I'll write a report from Israeli IDEC as often as I can.

成田空港で搭乗待ちです。イスラエルで開かれるIDECに参加するためです。IDECはデモクラティックエデュケーション関係者が年に1回再会し、あるいは新たに出会う場です。今年もどんな出会いがあるか楽しみです。この夏に東京でIDECのアジア太平洋版であるAPDECを開催します。そのこともIDECで共有してきます。可能な限り頻繁に今回のIDECの報告を書いていこうと思います。
