MIFS⑧経済的な負担無くいられる/ Free of Charge!

MIFSは形の上では公立学校という形を取っています。子どもが｢自由｣を持ち、独自の学びをとっているのですが、映画や映像について深く学べるという特殊性を持つ公立学校として認められています。従って、土地建物はモスクワ市が無償提供しており、学びに必要な経費は基本的に行政から支出されます。人事権、教育内容の決定権はMIFSが持っています。MIFSの活動時間は午前9時から午後9時までなので、食事が必要です。その、食費だけ家庭が負担しています。国内外に出かけて行く機会を毎年持っていますが、その経費は様々な個人や企業･団体などからの寄付でまかなっていて、旅行企画はお金を払わなくても原則的には参加ができるようになっています。

MIFS is a public school. The school building and school budget are provided by the government. Basically students do not have to pay tuition fee including domestic and international expeditions because MIFS ask partner organizations and friends to donate budget for such expeditions. Students only have to pay foods. MIFS have authority to manage personnel affairs and educational activities. It's extraordinary story.

MIFS⑦お互いを大切にしあう文化・People of Great Hospitality

These are the people of great hospitality. All through our stay till the last minutes at the airport, MIFS people are so nice to us. They try to imagine our situations, then suggest something or help us. Quite few students transfered to MIFS from other schools. In the previous schools, they often had hard time such as being bullied. At MIFS they have the culture of caring each other. They say they enjoy the this atomosphere. They feel they are accepted at MIFS as a person. They say it's pleasure for them to be nice to others and it's natural to do so in their culture.
今回、MIFSの子ども7～8人にインタビューをしました。どのインタビューでも共通していたのは、「ここでは自分が人として尊重されていると感じられて、安心できる」というようなことでした。確かに、子ども・若者もスタッフもお互いをとても大切にしている様子が感じられて、とても温かいつながり合いであることを感じます。このお互いを大切に思いあう人のつながりの中で、自分がこの人たちに肯定されているという感覚を一人ひとりが持っていくのだと感じました。

  MIFSは転校してくる人が多く、前にいた学校ではいじめられた経験があったり、なかなかつらい体験を持ってくる人が珍しくありません。 MIFSに来てもしばらくは、打ち解けなかったり、警戒感を持っていることがよくあるそうです。MIFSの子ども・若者たちは人への距離感が近く、とても 親切なのですが、そのような他者への優しさは、MIFSの中で尊重され、肯定されているという実感から来ているように感じられます。

MIFS⑥劇的な歴史 Dramatic History

There was a film studio where teenagers enjoyed freedom of expression at The Palace of Pioneers since 1973 till the end of Soviet Union. Teenagers and a film director made interesting activities there.  MIFS(Moscow International Film School) was founded from this film studio. It was huge political confusion time. In August 1991, a coup occured against Gorbachev who was President of Soviet Union.

 After they applied to found a school in Soviet, the film director and a group of students went to Poland as a expediton of the film studio. At this time, the coup occured. MIFS people in Poland were shoched with this situation and thought they might exile themselves to foreign country where they could have freedom. At this moment, they knew they could have their school. Then they came back to Soviet insdead of exiling themselves to somewhere. The principal was nineteen years old and vice principal was seven teen years old. The ninteen year old boy becomes exective secretary of MIFS. He told us "he and his teenager friends felt the old generation lost their power and teenagers could do anything they want to do." It's a so extraordinary story.

MIFSの前身はソ連時代にあった映画スタジオです。映画監督の下に集まったティーンエイジャーが表現の自由を謳歌していました。彼ら彼女らは自分たちが思い切り表現を探求できる場を作ろうと1991年に学校を作る申請をしました。そして、ポーランドに映像作成などをする旅行に出ました。そんな時に改革を進めるゴルバチョフ大統領を幽閉し、クーデターが起きました。ポーランドに行った監督と子どもたちは、かつての自由が無くなる時代に戻るくらいなら亡命をすべきかどうかを真剣に議論しました。そんなさなか、提出してきた学校申請が認められたと聞き、帰国し、MIFSを設立しました。初代の校長は19歳、副校長は17歳で、教師陣の殆どが10代で占められていたそうです。認可時に19歳だった少年は現在のMIFSの事務長で、「あの時はかつて力を持っていたものが力を失い、10代が何でもできると思っていた」と話してくれました。

MIFS⑤社会への参画・ロシア構成主義の建築保存活動

MIFS people are also conscious of social issues. For example, a famous Russian Constructivism building, a former radio tower, is near MIFS. It is a huge tower and not used as a radio tower now. So, business people plan to use the land to make money. But the radio tower (Shukhov Tower) is not only Russian heritage but also world heritage. MIFS joins the protect movement of this tower. They will have photo exhibition of this radio tower from 18th April.

MIFSの人々は社会的なことにも関心が高く、行動もしています。例えば、MIFSの近くにロシア構成主義を代表するシューホフタワーと言われる元のラジオ塔があります。非常に少ない鉄で強度が高く、機能美を持った建物として世界の建築史の教科書に載っている建築です。ところが、使われていない土地を使って金儲けを企画している業者があるとかで、壊される危険性があるのだそうです。MIFSではこの世界文化遺産的な意味合いのあるこの塔の保存運動に参加し、このラジオ塔の写真展を4月28日から始めるのだそうです。

MIFS④ウクライナの話 The story about Ukraine by Polish priest

　ウクライナの首都キエフでは2013年9月から抗争が続き、この2・3月に多くの犠牲者が出る事態になってしまいました。MIFSには20年来のポーランド人の司祭の友人がいます。2006年からMIFSが開く国際大会でシューレ大学のスタッフの朝倉もしばらくは毎年のように会ってきました。彼は、2年前からキエフのカトリックの司祭として赴任しており、今回の抗争の中で暮らすことになりました。抗争は基本的には市民と軍隊という構図のようですが、非常に混乱した状況があったそうです。この司祭は教会で負傷した人の支援をし続け、現在は状況がやや落ち着いたこともあり、バチカンなどを訪れ、今朝、クリミア半島に残っているウクライナ人とポーランド人の神父に会いに行きました。クリミアから陸路でキエフに帰るのだそうです。
　キエフの抗争での犠牲者は射殺された人が多く含まれます。1日に75人の人が一人のスナイパ
ーに射殺されたことがあったようです。そんなスナイパーはどこから来た人なのかわからないとされています。つまり、ウクライナの軍人ではないと考えられており、どこから誰が読んだのかが不明なのだということです。今回の抗争にはウクライナの人々だけではなく、ヨーロッパやロシアあるいは他の国の大きな資金を持った何がしかの力が働いているのではないかということが言われているようです。この困難状況を収集するのが難しいのは、ウクライナの人々が分断されているからだと友人は言っていました。今のウクライナは貧富の差が大きくなってきており、人々の間に不信と不満が蓄積してきているのだそうです。2004年のオレンジ革命のあとも政治の腐敗や汚職が続き人々は政治、ひいては民主政治制度を信頼できなくなっていることも困難を大きくしているのだそうです。
　今は感情的な対立や憎しみが高まっており、対話を積み重ねることが難しく、時間をかけて紙
を重ねるように丁寧に一歩一歩進むしかないということでした。
一緒に現場の写真を見せてもらっていたMIFSの子どもたちも食い入るように話を聞いていました。

Group of MIFS students, staff members and I talked with a Polish priest living in Kiev. He has lived in Kiev for two years. It means he lived there when the serious situation happend in Kiev. He helped injured people at his Church. It was not safe. For example, one day a man standing next to him was shot dead.
     Many of the dead were shot. According to him, there was a sniper in the conflict.  The sniper shot more than 70 people on one day. Many people there didn't know who was that sniper, from where the sniper came. Some people say huge figure may concern to this conflict from outside of Ukraine.
     Until today the rich have become richer and the poor become poorer. So people are divided. People cannot trust each other and are frustrated. Even after the Orange Revolution in 2004, they had had corruptions of the government. They cannot trust government then democratic political system.
    Now people have emotional hatered. So, it takes time to go to the peace, the friend said to us.

MIFS③俳優の卒業生へのインタビュー Interview with a graduate

We interviewed Sarsha who is a graduate of MIFS and a actress now. She plays Olga in "Three Sisters" now. When she was thirteen, she knew MIFS. She saw same age children were making drama passonately. She decided to join MIFS instantly.  (日本語が下にあります)
今日はOGで国際的に俳優として活躍しているサーシャにMIFSに来てもらってインタビューをしました。MIFSにいた時に来日して一緒に松尾芭蕉の演劇を演じました。彼女は13歳ですごく演劇に関心があり、体験入学記来た時に10代の子どもたちが真剣に演劇を稽古しているのを見て、すぐに入りたいと思ったそうです。

MIFS②編集のワークショップ

スクリーンを見て議論しているのは編集のワークショップで取った写真です。「同じ人を3つの違った様子として撮影する」「人のポートレートを具体的なものを通して表現する」などのテーマでとられた長くても1分程度の短い映像をみて、意見交換します。専門的な経験のある二人のスタッフもコメントします。
Students are discussing in the workshop of film editing. Their short films shorter than 60 seconds are edited under the theme. Such as "describing a person in three different modes" and  "the portrait thrghou dedailed material". Students and two proffesonals make comments.

MIFS①専門性を持ったオルタナティブスクール

昨年11月に引き続ききのうからまた、MIFS(モスクワ国際フィルムスクール)を訪問しています。MIFSは世界的にも珍しい、専門分野をはっきりと打ち出しているオルタナティブスクールです。今までに何度も来ているMIFSですが、いつもは大会で話をするために呼ばれていたため、日常の様子は見ていないものがたくさんあります。今回は日常をたっぷり見せてもらいます。この写真は演技を専門的に学びたい子どもたちがプロのバレーダンサーからバレーのレッスンを受けているところです。
I have visited MIFS(Moscow International Film School) many times. Most of times I was invited to their international conference to talk. So I don't see the activities in daily lives. This time I have plenty of opportunities to see them. This is the workshop of ballet by well known ballet dancers.
