韓国・夏⑫IDEC 日韓共催「若者の生き難さ」/ Japan-Korea co-hosting "Difficulty of Living for Youth"

シューレ大学と韓国のIDEC実行委員会の若者で共同で日韓の若者の生き難さについてのセッションを持ちました。それぞれの社会の若者の生きがたさを30分ずつ発表し、最後の30分はフロアーでの意見交換という構成で行ないました。シューレ大学からは、自分の人生の大切な選択も自分で決められるというよりは、そうせざろう得ないという感覚にならざるを得ない状況であること、他者の視線におびえるようなくらい意識せざろう得ないこと、などやスクールカーストなどについて発表し、個人の体験から感じる生き辛さを発表しました。韓国からは、主に20代の若者にインタビューをした結果や、典型的と思える若者の生活を発表してくれました。フロアーからは日本の若者の生き難さは殆ど韓国と同じだということでした。ケータイや、Lineなどのアプリで縛りあうのも同じだそうで、既読スルーされることを韓国では｢噛まれた｣というなどという話が続き、時間が足りないくらいでした。
A group of Shure University students and a group of Korean IDEC people made a session about "Difficulty of Living for Youth". Both of teams explained about it in each societies. Then in rest of thirty minutes, the people in the room exchanged their opinions. From Japanese team, young people feel they cannot decide important things in their lives. They feel they should follow the decided process not to drop off the rail of the lives. We also explained school cliques. Korean team introduced the result of the survey to Korean young people and a life of a typical Korean college student. The Korean participants there said that Japanese situation is same in Korea. For example, young people bind each other through mobile phone or SNS such as LINE and Cacao Talk. We needed more time to discuss about this issue.

韓国・夏⑪IDEC 国境平和スクール：Border Peace School

韓国と北朝鮮を分かつ北緯38度線近くの非武装地帯(DMZ)に、2013年にオープンした国境平和スクール(BPS)というオルタナティブスクールがあります。非武装地帯近くはソウルからかなり離れていることもあり、寮があります。平和の実現する人材を排出する目的で始まった非認可のオルタナティヴスクールです。3年制ですが、非認可ですから学歴にはなりません。18歳以上の人が対象です。学生の年齢の幅はとても広く、50代までいるそうです。キャンパスは国境近くにある今は使われていない月井里駅の近くにある建物を県から提供されていて、使っています。この写真はBPSの教室として使われている部屋です。

There is an alternative school near lat. 38 North, in front of DMZ. Border Peace School(BPS) is the name of it. BPS is far from Korean major sities. So, they have a domitory. The purpose of this school is to grow peace makers. It is three year alternative colledge. So, the graduates cannot get the diploma. The ages of students varies rom 18 till 50's. The campus of BPS locates just near by Waljonni Station. That is the most north station in Korea. And this station was bombed during Korean War. They use the building which the local government provides. This is the picture of the class room of BPS.

韓国・夏⑩IDEC 出版社とオルタナティブスクール、Publishing Company & Alternative School

ソウルにはミンドゥルレという名前の教育書・雑誌を出している出版社とオルタナティブスクールがあります。90年代後半に、学校が合わなくて、学校を出て社会で様々な模索をした青年の本を出版することがきっかけで始まった出版社です。子ども・若者など学ぶ人が主体の教育に関する雑誌『ミンドゥルレ』(3000冊/号)も出し続けています。そんな出版を続けている中で自然に子どもたちが集まってきて始まったのがオルタナティブスクールの「空間ミンドゥルレ」です。ミンドゥルレは、たんぽぽという意味です。オルタナティブスクールの雰囲気はとてもあたたかくて、日本の居場所・フリースクールと共通の居心地のよさがあります。ミンドゥルレは、ガンディースクールとともに、韓国のオルタナティブスクールのネットワークの中心を担ってきました。帰国の二日前、夜に伺ったのにもかかわらず、子どもも含め、スタッフの方も大勢いて下さって遅くまで交流をしました。
Mindle is the publishing company and the alternative school. In late 1990's, one youth wrote a book about his experience of de-schooling. No other publishing company published. So, an editor founded this publishing company and published the book. They have also published learner centered magazine "Mindle". Young people came here. Naturally they started the alternative school "Space Mindle". Mindle means a dandelion flower. The warm atmosphere of Mindlre has something in common with Japanese free democratic schools. Mindle has been in the middle of Korean alternative education movement with Gandhi Schools. We visited Mindle at night. We have chatted and enjoyed music till late.

韓国・夏⑨IDECセウォル号の事故について・The accident of the ferry "Sewol"

セウォル号の事故は、韓国社会で大変大きな影響を及ぼした事件でした。オルタナティブスクールの間でも大きな事件として受け止められています。この事件では約300人の高校生が犠牲になりました。沈んでいく船内で歌を作ってその動画が配信されたことで子どもたちの最後の様子がある程度知られています。なぜ、このような犠牲が起きてしまったのかを自分たちの社会のこととしてこのまま流してしまってはいけないという反省が、オルタナティブ教育の人々の間にあります。「こんなに創造性のある子どもたちがなぜ、自分たちの生命が危機にさらされている時に、大人の言うことを疑わずに死んでいったのか。という問いが重くそこにあるのです」というようなことを今回のIDECの実行委員会のメンバーから聞きました。これは、IDECの朝のミーティングの後に会場で開かれたセウォル号の犠牲者を悼んだ時の写真です。
     The accident of the ferry "Sewol" is very big issue in Korean society. About 300 senior high students are dead. They made songs and took video them. Some of them are on the web after they found dead. One of the IDEC committee member told me they've got very heavy question. "Why such creative children didn't doubt what the crews ordered. That is problem of education." This is a picture taken IDEC. We mourn the dead children after the morning meeting.

韓国・夏⑧IDEC ツアーデイ・IDEC Tour Day DMZ tour

Fifth day of IDEC is tour day. eleven courses are offered. Fourteen of Japan Free School Network deligation joined DMZ(demilitarized zone) tour. We went to DMZ and visited "Border Peace School". Border Peace School is a small boarding school founded in 2013 for making peace makers. After we visited the school, a teacher from the school accompanied us and explained about DMZ. The exsisitence of the front line and DMZ has big meaning in Korean sciety.
IDEC5日目はツアーの日でした。11のコースが用意されていました。フリスクール全国ネットワークから参加したメンバーのうち、14人が38度線DMZ（非武装地帯）のコースに参加しました。非武装地帯に行くだけでなく、2013年に平和を実現する人材排出を目的に設立された「国境平和スクール」という寮制のオルタナティブスクールにもいきました。そこのスタッフが同行してくれてDMZに行きました。この半島に国境と非武装地帯があることの意味はとても大きく、考えないわけにはいかないことを改めて思い知らされました。

韓国・夏⑦韓国の政府によるオルタナティブスクールへの干渉反対運動・Campaign against government policy to control alternative schools

Today Korean alternative school people with four IDEC participants had a press conference in front of Soeul City hall. This place is symbolic place for Korean civil movements. Present government try to put alternative schools under their control. If alternative schools don't accept government inspection, they might be closed down. So, Korean alternative school people and IDEC participants from UK, US, Australia and Japan made speaches against the government policy. Amazing protest are the peformances by students of Gandhi School and haja school. Rap music and druming are very impressive.
今日、韓国のオルタナティブスクール関係者とIDECから米国、英国、豪州、日本から一人ずつがソウル市庁舎前広場で政府のオルタナティブスクールを管理しようとする政策への抗議の記者会見をしました。それぞれが反対の声明を言いました。特に印象的だったのかガンディーの子どもたちのラップミュージックとガンディーの子どもたちの打楽器隊の演奏でした。

韓国・夏⑥IDECイスラエルからのスカイプ基調講演・The Keynote through Skype from Yaacov

Because of political situations between Palestine and Israel, the air plane doesn't fly. Yaacov who is Chair of "Education Cities" in Israel cannot make his keynote speech about democratic education and education cities here in Korea. Instead of coming here and talking infront of us, he made his keynote through Skype. Takeshi and I also talked with Yaacov through Skype.
現在のパレスティナとイスラエルの間の紛争のため飛行機が飛ばなくて、エデュケンション・シティーの代表をしているヤコブさんがIDECに来てデモクラティック教育とエデュケーションシティについての講演をすることになっていたのですが、そうできなくなりました。来られなかったのですが、今朝、スカイプで基調講演をしてくれました。質疑応答でOBの長井君と朝倉もヤコブさんと話しました。

韓国・夏⑤IDEC韓国の若者の生きがたさについて・The Keynote about the difficulty of living among youth

今日は韓国の社会学者が現代の若者が感じる生きがたさについて講演をしました。会場の多くの若者が共感していました。通訳をしてくれたハジャの卒業生の若者も共感するといっていました。脱落者を少数作ることで、必死に進学、就職、労働の場で場の力を持つものに従順になる、受身になる社会状況などを分析していました。語られたことの少なからぬ分析はシューレ大学の学歴社会・不登校の時間で議論してきたことと重なっていました。

In Korea, many youth feel the difficult of living. In Korean society, the system makes small number of 'failure'. So, people should obey the way the judging people want. It's very difficult for them to have hope. Many Korean youth at the venue agreed his speech.

韓国・夏④IDEC初日・The bginning of IDEC

公式には今日がIDECの初日です。朝のミーティングから始まりました。去年、主催のスコットさん達が座って始めた様子を思い起こさせます。左がオンハンスという地域に根ざしたオルタナティブ教育の発想で主として貧困地域で遊びや学びの活動をしている団体のメンバーです。右は韓国でオルタナティブ教育を研究しているハ・タエさんです。大会自体はきのうの前夜祭が幕開けで、市長もやってきてオルタナティブ教育を広める支援をするということを挨拶で明言していました。
Offically IDEC has started today. The first whole meeting begun like this picture. This two people riminds me of Scott last year. The left person in the picture is the youth member of "Onhans" which has educational activities in local community. The right person is Tae who has participated IDEC many times. Last night we had the opening ceremony. In it, May of Gwangmyeong made speach. He said Gwangmyeong City supports spreading ideas of democratic education.

韓国・夏③｢美しい学校」・"Beautiful School"

「美しい学校」は子どもが美しく育っているところでありたいと願ってつけられたオルタナティブスクールです。中学校、高校年齢の子どもたちが32人学んでおり、キャンパスはソウル市の北の地下室がある大きな民家を借りて活動している非認可のオルタナティブスクールです。自転車旅行をしたり、全員で6日間の徒歩旅行をしたりアウトドア活動もさかんです。学生時代に民主化運動に関わった代表が、労働者として社会を考える中でオルタナティブスクールの必要性を感じて2009年に始めたのだそうです。
"Beautiful School" was founded in 2009, in north part of Seoul. The founder was a student when students movement for democracy was very active in 80's, he joined it. After he graduated from university, he engaged manual labour. He has thought about society, then he realised that diffenret type of education is necessary. So, he founded this school. Children here love outdoor acitivites such as bike tour and 6 day walking tour. They also love to do hand works such as carpentar works, painting, photography, etc. Their cmapus is full of their art works. The founder named this name because they want to make a place where children grow beautifully.

韓国・夏②ソンミサンスクール/ Sungmisan School

地域に根ざしたフリースクールは地域に根ざしたオルタナティブスクールです。ソンミサンというソウル市内の小さな山を開発から守る住民運動をした人々が中心になって10年前に生まれました。ソンミサン地区は美術･デザインで有名な弘益大学があり、美術・デザイン関係者が多くすんでいたり、出版関係者が住んでいたり、社会的な関心が高い住民が多く、韓国で初めての共同育児の企画が生まれた場所です。そんな地域から生まれたソンミサンスクールには地域の人が講師になったり、子どもたちが一人暮らしの高齢者に食事を作って届けたり、地域と繋がった学びをしています。
Sungmisan School was founded by local people around Mt.Sungmi. Mt.Sungmi is pretty small mountain in Seoul. When City of Seoul tried to develop it, local peole were against the development and protected it. These people founded the school. In this area many artists, designers and editors live. They are social issue consiouns people. This area is known as the first place of co-growing children project. This school has close relathionship with local society. Several local people teach there. Children of this school cook food and deliver to solitary aged dwellers. Their learning acitivites connect to the local society organically.

韓国・夏①ハジャセンター：社会的企業, social entrepreneur

Staff of haja center, Mr.Kim explans about the social entrepreneurs. Now haja center is a important incubation center of social entrepreneurs. The picture is Noridan. Noridan is the performers group. They play music and dance. Their instruments and tools are handmade by themselves. The materials are also unique.
ハジャセンターは重要な社会的企業のインキュベーションセンターになっています。スタッフの金さんが説明をしてくれました。写真は社会的企業第1号のノリダンのものです。ノリダンは音楽やダンスのパフォーマー集団で、楽器などはすべて手作りです。素材もとてもユニークです。

ハジャセンター ③ / haja centre 3

その中にハジャスクールは今もあります。一旦活動を休止して、設立以来ずっと責任者をしているキムヒーオクさんと何人かの子どもで計画を練り、｢シーズン2｣と呼ばれる第2期の活動を始めました。現在は中等部、高等部、青年部の３つがあり、3つをあわせて50人ほどだそうです。活動には３つの柱があって「玄米五合」という都市農業のプロジェクト、エネルギーの自給を目指す適正技術のプロジェクト、3つ目はこれらの考えや技術を国際的に広めていく国際交流のプロジェクトです。
Still haja school is in haja centre. Once they closed thier school. Kim Hiiock and several youth made the plan for next phase they called "the season two". They have three big projects. One is the urban agriculture project. Another is the appropriate technology project such as solar power or other kinds of sustainable energy. The last one is international relashin building. The are still energetic and active.

現在のハジャセンターはずいぶんと様変わりをしています。現在は社会的企業の起業支援施設というような場になっています。かつてのように十代の表現などの活動の場ではなく、20～30代の若者たちが活躍しています。エコツーリズムの企業や、環境にやさしく格好のいい結婚式を請け負う会社、持続可能な社会を個々人が作っていけるのかという関心もあり、自転車再生工房、社会の中の結びつきをつくる食堂など、様々な活動があります。
Now haja centre changed its structure drastically. Today, haja centre is the incubation centre for socail entrepreneuers. Eco-tourism, eco-wedding, bicycle recycling, restrant for social community building,etc activiteis are there. Young people in their twenties and thirties are there.

hajaセンター①/ haja centre 1

ハジャセンターは日本でも知っている人が多い団体です。IDEC期間の訪問の相談とハジャスクールの近況を聞いてきました。ハジャセンターは1999年に青少年が関心を持つ先進的なスキルを身につけて自分の道を拓いていくことに資する活動の場として始まりました。映像、デザイン、服飾、ポップミュージック、市民社会などの工房がありました。ソウル市から大きな資金援助があるため、参加する子どもの負担は小遣いでまかなえる程度になっていました。放課後、多くのティーネイジャーたちが通ってきました。数的には少数でも活動の中核を担っていたのは脱学校と言われた学校に行かない子どもたちでした。脱学校の子どもたちが集まってハジャ作業場スクール(ハジャスクール)というオルタナティブスクールがあり、活発に活動していました。
haja centre was the centre for teenagers where they cuold learn the latest skills in some fields of expressions such as visual design, pop-music, film making, fasion, etc. The fee was rathre cheap. Teenagers could afford to. Many teenagers went there after school. But most active people were so called "de-schooled kids". They belonged to the alternative school, "haja school".

Preparation of IDEC Korea 3/ 韓国IDECの実行委員会との打合せ

今回のIDECは主催者がフリースクール等ではなく、20代の若者です。若者の生きづらさとそこからどのように生きやすい社会を生み出していくのかということをテーマにしたのはIDECの歴史の中では初めてです。韓国の社会も苛烈な学歴競争があり、就職競争も大変厳しく、学生時代も資格獲得のために授業そっちのけで勉強をしている学生も珍しくないといいます。88万ウォン世代はここしばらくの選挙でテーマになっています。88万ウォンというのは月給の最低賃金で、8万8千円相当ですが、この金額で暮らしている若者が少なくないのです。今回はオルタナティブな教育で育った若者が、従来とは違った価値観でどう生きていくのかということを問いかける大会にしたいということのようです。
Most of the organizing members of this IDEC are in their twenties. The host is not a school but a committee of youth. In Korea, the situations young people face is very hard. High school students have to study so many hours without enough sleep. Even at universities, quite a few students devote thier time to prepare for examinations to get licenses for recruitment. Young working people are in very difficult situation. Many of them recieve 8,800USD per month. They want to change these situation. They want to have another way of life. The committee members think free democratic education can do important thing.

Preparation of IDEC Korea 2/ 韓国IDEC打合せ・全体会場

これはIDEC会場の建物の一つです。この二人は地元のフリースクール「ビョプシスクール」の卒業生でIDECの実行委員です。食事や各参加団体の展示などはこの建物で行われます。
This is one of the buildings in IDEC venue. These two people are the graduates of local alternative school, Byopsi School. They are two of IDEC organizing members. Participants will have meals in this building. Exhibitions of participant organizations are also here.

Preparation of IDEC Korea 1/ 韓国IDECの実行委員会との打合せ

IDEC2014Koreaの実行委員会のメンバーと打ち合わせをしました。実行委員会は主に二つの団体の若者たちで構成されています。一つはオンハンスという地元のフリースクールの卒業生の若者が作っている団体です。もう一つは新しくデモクラティック大学を志向して始まった若者のグループです。
These are members of IDEC2014Korea Committee. This consists of two groups. One is a group of graduates of the local alternative school. Another group is the students of the democratic university students. They prepare six days a week from morning till late often. Thank you for their hard working.

韓国・ソウルのミンドゥルレ/ Midlre in Seoul, Korea

今回は、韓国・ソウルにあるミンドゥルレを訪問しました。ミンドゥルレは子ども中心の教育に関する雑誌を16年間発行しています。出版した本にひかれて若者が集まり、フリースクールも運営しています。韓国IDECの打ち合わせのあと、フリースクールを出た若者たちの進路についての模索でどのようなことが大切なのかについても話し合いました。日本の子ども・若者に共通する自己否定感があるようで、スタッフが感じていることは共通していると思いました。写真はミンドゥルレの入り口です。
Midlre has been publishing company for 16 years. They publish magazines and books about childcentered education. Naturally teengagers gathered at the office. It became a free democratic school. Today I talked my experience at Shure University to teachers of free democratic schools in Seoul. The conversations with them was very interesting.

韓国オルタナティブ教育訪問2011⑤

　ハジャセンターは韓国のオルタナティブ教育をリードしてきた旗振り役の一つです。1999年12月に始まり、10年以上活動を続けています。学校に合わず、学校を飛び出し、行き場が無いように感じている若者たちが活動の中心となり、映像やデザイン、など様々な表現活動、社会への自分たちの声を発信する活動をしてきました。ハジャは学校に行っている若者たちにも広く門を開いていて、映像、デザイン、ファッション、ウェッブなどのワークショップを受けることができるティーンエイジャーたちの表現などの一大発信基地でした。ハジャスクールがその中心的な役割を担ってきました。
　現在は、社会的企業が育っていく基盤として12の社会的企業が活動を展開しています。ハジャスクールは社会的企業ではなく、オルタナティブスクールですが、今もハジャセンターの中にあり、活動しています。ハジャスクールのOBOGでこれらの社会的企業を始めたり、参加したりしているメンバーも少なくありません。
